Greetings,

I am Dr. Adrienne Wynn, the Executive Director of PPP Foundation For Girls.  We were founded July 23, 2003 for girls ages 8-18 in New York City, as a community service organization.

PPP Foundation for Girls was developed as a result of the Real Girl Power Program in Oakland, California. Real Girl Power began as a lunch idea by three colleagues wanting to make a difference in the community for girls.  Sixteen young girls enrolled and impacted the community, whereas the Oakland Tribune told of its hopeful beginnings.

Relocation to Springfield Garden, NY and Charlotte, NC illustrated similar needs in the community.  Therefore, PPP Foundation for Girls was developed to support the needs of girls in these communities.

The overarching theme of PPP Foundation for Girls is to support girls as they grow.  Our comprehensive services, assist in their development and preparation to address life issues.  Despite the many successes of women throughout history, we believe girls are having to mature at a faster rate.

Thus, high risk behaviors are on the rise throughout the United States, such as youth/teen pregnancy, homelessness, runaways, abortions, homicides, suicides, drug use and abuse, crime, and varying social problems.  PPP Foundation for Girls is the place where the girls of modern day and the future can feel confident in their development and abilities to grow into women.

We endeavor to work diligently with community agencies, schools, families, and volunteer staff to address the issues that our girls are facing.  We believe that "each one, teaches one.”  Therefore, we avail ourselves to reach girls in the community through the various teachings in our program services.  We look forward to you being a valued part.

Respectfully,

Dr. Adrienne Wynn
